Space to Play Campaign
Scottish Green activists knock on doors across South Lanarkshire throughout the year, to find out about local issues and connect with communities. One issue raised with us time and again on the doorstep is a lack of things for young people to do. Scottish Green campaigner, Kirsten Robb, has been investigating local play spaces and working with communities to get improvements.
There are two Space to Play campaigns:
Reopen Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs) out with school hours
Improve every play park in South Lanarkshire
Both campaigns call on the council to prepare a Play Strategy so that children’s right to play is recognised, valued and acted on.
